Global Trade Analyst
As the Global Trade Analyst, you'll ensure Best Buy's North American import and export operations comply with U.S. and Canadian trade regulations. You will support day-to-day execution of trade activities, including classification, customs clearance, compliance audits, and vendor coordination. You will leverage trade expertise, data analytics, and process improvements to minimize financial risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and optimize operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and collaboration skills for partnering with internal teams, external vendors, and third-party service providers.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do- Develop strategies to mitigate tariff impacts and leverage automation tools for process
- optimization.
- Assign HTS and Schedule B codes for U.S. and Canadian imports/exports
- Maintain documentation for OGAs, Free Trade declarations, and compliance records.
- Maintain import metrics (duty/tax, entry volume) and resolve entry exceptions.
- Generate ad hoc reports and analyze compliance trends for continuous improvement.
- Partner with brokers and deconsolidation centers to address discrepancies and delays.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate documentation and pricing.
- Maintain internal databases and reconcile customs entry data.
- Partner with brokers and legal counsel on post-entry work and compliance reviews.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance compliance and reduce costs
Basic qualifications- 2+ years in global trade compliance, import/export regulations, and customs brokerage
- 2+ years in product classification and vendor/partner management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
Preferred qualifications- Familiarity with ACE, CARM, or similar supply chain systems
- Bachelor's degree
